At Heroes, Legends & Icons, we love to celebrate individual artists with our collections. However, some of our favourite tracks of all time are duets which bring together some of the greatest voices ever.
Below are our current five favourites, we’d love to hear yours!
Dean Martin and Helen O’ Connell – ‘How D’Ya Like Your Eggs in the Morning’
An all time classic, this song definitely doesn’t suffer from being overly familiar. We can’t think of any better song to start the day (or this post) with.
Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald – ‘Dream a Little Dream of Me’
A classic jazz standard that was covered several times by both Louis and Ella, this version combines Satchmo’s classic trumpet and Ella’s amazing vocals to great effect.
Nat King Cole and Dean Martin – ‘Open up the Doghouse’
A classic light-hearted collaboration between the two lounge legends. ‘Open up the Doghouse’ tells the story of exactly how the two singers ended up in the doghouse!
Available on iTunes on Legend – The Nat King Cole Collection – 60 Classic Tracks.
Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney – ‘The Isle of Capri’
From the classic album ‘Fancy Meeting You Here,’ this collaboration reinvents the Swing standard as a duet for these two fabulous artists.
Marilyn Monroe and Frankie Vaughan – ‘Let’s Make Love’
‘Let’s Make Love’ manages to combine the swing and new jazz stylings of the era to create a song that is much better than the film it came from!
Available on iTunes on Essential Musicals: Lets Make Love – the original soundtrack!
These are our current favourite collaborations – we’d love to hear yours in the comments below!
